Ashes of the Burnéd Book

This game consists of a poem, and an interpretation (which also explains the rules of playing the game the poem describes). It was an exercise in a different form for games, part of the theme of Game Chef 2014.

The game is set in the aftermath of an apocalyptic even for a faith or philosophical tradition; their texts destroyed, they had to flee from some calamity, either physically (by migration), or emotionally (by conversion or hiding their faith). None of the original Text survived – the players must reconstruct it from their ideals and other sources. There is no book on which they can rely.
